Our Week Of Learning

Our week was pretty exciting!  We  had a blast doing some egg experiments.

We estimated how much string it would take to go around an egg.

We counted how many teddy bear counters and snap cubes it took to equal the weight of an egg.

We described the outside and inside of an egg.

We learned about ways to help our Earth be a better place.

We sorted pictures of things that were helpful to the Earth and things that were harmful.

We enjoyed playing a pass the plate sight word game.

We worked as a team and put scrambled sight word sentences in order.

We went outside on another day for a fun sight word review.  We had to find all the different sight words on the tennis court and  high light them on our paper.

We worked together to build great sentences during guided reading.

We kept with our  Earth Day theme  and created addition problems using  our recycle bin and recycled newspapers.

We enjoyed the nice weather this week.  We ate lunch outside one day.

We took a nice walk around the track on another day.

We planted sunflower and corn seeds this week.  Once they sprout we will add them to our garden.

We predicted which seed will sprout first.

A big thanks to our sixth grade friends for filling up our garden with some fresh soil.

We read The Little Red Hen on Friday and made Mayo Bread.

Thanks for donating to Cystic Fibrosis.  We LOVE you Ella!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Our Week Together

We had a busy week of learning. We enjoyed our sunny days together.
We had lots of excitement on Tuesday when we placed our chick eggs in our incubator.

We learned about the life cycle of a chick.

We started our egg journal.  We will be writing about our eggs and their development.

Even in math we were all about the chicks!  We created math addition sentences using chicks and ducks.

We enjoyed buddy reading a book about hens.

We have been working hard on our addition.

We played a new fishing sight word game.

We tried out our new white boards.

We wrote our sight words using rainbow colors.

I love to listen to my kiddos read this time of year. So proud!

Friday was hat day. The students donated a dollar to Cystic Fibrosis and got to sport their favorite hat all day long. We will have hat day again on Friday, April 29th.

Have a great weekend!
