Ho-Ho-Ho

Our classroom Elf "Happy" has had a busy week. He is keeping us guessing where he will be each morning.  We are learning a lot from his messages of kindness.

We are still enjoying our Holiday centers.  This center was a hit this week. The children had to "pick" an ornament off the tree and write what letter the picture started with.

We had to say good-bye to one of our friends this week. We wish Damien well at his new school.  He will always be part of our Check school family.

This little note made my day!

Our visit to Santa was very special.

Sorry this post was not longer...but we have been busy little elves ourselves making some special Christmas surprises.

We can't wait to see everyone at our Christmas PTA program on Tuesday, December 16th. The 7th grade students will be holding a Pasta Night Fundraiser from 5:00-7:00 the night of our program.  All you need to bring is a donation and your appetites!  Come out and enjoy dinner and a show.

All students participating in our program will need to meet me in our classroom at 6:45. We are sure to get you into the Holiday spirit!

'Tis The Season

We are really enjoying this special season in Kindergarten. Our learning has taken on a "holiday" style.

We had a special delivery from the North Pole on Monday. Santa sent us an elf to help us learn to think of others.  The elf is bringing us a message everyday with ideas of how we can share random acts of kindness.
We named our elf  Happy.

Happy showed up in our tree on Tuesday and on Wednesday he brought us our sight words.

On Thursday Happy had fun with our elmo.  Friday was gingerbread day and we found him right in the middle of our candy!

We are enjoying holiday themed math and literacy stations.
We wrote a letter to Santa and told him what was on our wish list.

We read lots of gingerbread books this week.  We compared the characters, setting and endings of the stories.  We also did a little gingerbread writing.

The students did a GREAT job with their gingerbread men in disguise projects. Can you guess what these cookies are?

  A monkey and snowman.

 An elf and the Hulk.
Heath disguised his to look like him.

Gingerbread day was so much fun!  Thank you to all the parents who attended and to everyone who sent in supplies.

I have the best job ever!
