Our Week Of Learning

Welcome to apple week! We had so much fun adding apples to all of our learning this week. Grab an apple to snack on while you catch up on our busy week.

I pulled out my apple peeler for some fun.

We tasted yellow, green and red apples.  Yellow was the class favorite.

We reviewed patterns with apple cereal.

We reviewed our letters by "picking" an apple and identifying the letter and sound on the apple.

We made the life cycle of an apple tree.

This apple tree makes me SMILE!

Mrs. Malcolm's fourth grade class came and helped us with some apple experiments.

We worked hard making applesauce for food Friday. It turned out delicious!

Have a wonderful rainy weekend!

Exciting News!

Just thought I would pop in and share some exciting news. Our class won the rug from the school book fair contest!  Thank you for all of your support!

One of our butterflies hatched on Sunday.  I let it outside and he flew around our playground before soaring away.  The other butterfly should hatch sometime this week.

The black spot in the sky is our butterfly.

 Have a good week!

Our Week Of Learning

We had a busy week. We celebrated a birthday with freezer pops and sunshine. It was the perfect way to end a day of learning.

We are working hard on recognizing our letters.  We are focusing on letters in our names.

We are singing lots of new alphabet songs.  We use a colorful letter chart to point to the letters as we sing.

We worked on writing this week. We drew a picture and labeled things with  beginning sounds.

We are working on reading and writing our sight words.

We painted numbers.

We have been reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We went on a letter hunt on the tennis court.  Once we found a letter we had to highlight it on our chicka tree.

Look at these expert letter finders!

We acted out the story on the rug.

We made Chicka trees for food Friday. Perfect way to end the week.

We are watching our butterflies carefully.

Have a great weekend.
