Our Pumpkin Patch Fieldtrip

We had a wonderful time at the pumpkin patch.  The weather was beautiful and it was the perfect day to pick out a pumpkin. Thank you to all the parents who came to lend a helping hand.

Pumpkin Week!

We had a great week learning about pumpkins.
We earned our pumpkin expert hats. I would like to send out a big thank you to all the parents for sending in pumpkins.

Look at these cute pumpkin experts!

"I like my friends and I like Mrs. Craighead" LOVE this!
"I like Mrs. Craighead"  This melts my heart!

"I like school."
We read pumpkin books of course.

We had a blast making a sight word pumpkin patch.  All the children wrote sight words on their pumpkins and placed them around the room. They walked around the room and wrote all the words they found.

We predicted how many pumpkins tall we were and then we measured ourselves using paper pumpkins.

We measured how many cubes tall our pumpkins were.

We tested all of our pumpkins to see if they would sink or float.  They all floated to the top of the water.
We took a little field trip outside to watch our school garden being plowed.

A big thanks to Mrs. Deremer and Wells Fargo for supplying books to our classroom.

We played a pumpkin alphabet sound game.

Tomorrow is our field trip to the pumpkin patch.  Be on the lookout for a blog post about our trip.

Learning Fire Safety Is An Important Rule In School

We had an awesome week learning about fire safety.  We added new fire safety centers to our literacy stations. (Thanks Mrs. Hoffer's Spot)
We are working hard on becoming readers and writers. I hope you enjoy our pictures.

 Literacy Stations

We enjoyed reading with our "reading" fingers this week.
 Look at this great writing!

We played a number leaf game.

We concluded our week with making fire truck cookies.

Our Kindergarten shirts are in.  We will wear them to the pumpkin patch on Friday.
