Our Week Of Learning

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving.  This week we put our listening skills to the test with our directed turkey drawings.  The students had to listen to step by step directions to draw a turkey.  I think our pictures turned out GREAT.  What great listeners I have.

Gobble! Gobble!

We learned about living and non-living things.  We sorted pictures to test our knowledge.

Our popcorn list is growing.  We are working hard on learning these words.

We had fun getting into groups and calling out words for our partners to read and write. Everyone is a teacher in our classroom.

We had to unscramble the mixed up popcorn words.

We began our unit on magnets.  We had a great time exploring with them around our classroom.

We had to find items around the room that our magnets were attracted to.

We did a magnet experiment with water.

I am so proud of the writers we are becoming.

"I see Mrs. Craighead."

"I see a Ella."

"I see Mrs.Craighead."

We had a ball singing this BatMan vowel song.

We learned about tally marks in math.

We are working on I-Ready in class and in the computer lab.

We ended our week with a yummy food Friday.  Haystack cookies.

Recipe:

24 ounces of butterscotch morsels
5 oz. of chow mein noodles
1/2 cup of peanuts
1/2 cup of peanut butter

Melt the butterscotch morsels.  Add the remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper.  Let cool and enjoy.

We are collecting can foods for our Check Elementary food drive.

Have a wonderful weekend.
